On 25 January 2010, A Virtual Memorial Foundation joint NewMediaFest’2010 and launched a new media art context on occasion of 27 January 2010 - International Holocaust Day - 65th return of the Liberation of Auschwitz, entitled. Draft Title: Shoah v.1.0 –> http://dts.engad.org/shoah-index.html
The main part represents “SFC - Shoah Film Collection” –> http://dts.engad.org/sfc-index.html
- a new unique initiative by A Virtual Memorial Foundation & VideoChannel in the framework of NewMediaFest’2010 to encourage young generations of artists and filmmakers to refelect the context of Shoah and contribute, this way, against the forgetting. This new collection starts with 34 films and videos, most of them created especially for SFC, which already indicates, that artists take the challenge reflecting Holocaust/Shoah in an artistic way to visualize the “impossible”. That it is possible in contemporary artistic expressions shows the works feature in SFC impressingly.
SFC will be the Feature of the Month “February 2010″ on NewMediaFest’2010, and VAD - Video Art Database will feature the included works during February for one day.
SFC - Shoah Film Collection is planned to be launched as one of the first new projects of NewMediafest’2010 on 27 January 2010, the 65th return of the Liberation of Auschwitz (better known also in Germany as Holocaust Memorial Day).
Run by A Virtual Memorial Foundation & VideoChannel, SFC will release as an initial act about 30 films and videos, which are planned to form the basis of the film collection, yet.
Under the guidance of VideoChannel, another initiative is looking exclusively for film and video works, reflecting the topic of SHOAH and its various aspects, i.e. SFC - Shoah Film Collection .
Please find here the official call for entries, which is referring to the “Draft Title: Shoah” project, since SFC is planned to become the basis of the later physical exhibition –> http://www.nmartproject.net/netex/?p=1549
Until the deadline of 30 September 2009, “Draft Title: Shoah” is still accepting project proposals in all digital and electronic media.
After this deadline, only proposals in digital film & video will be accepted to be included later in the “SHOAH Film Collection” (SFC) which will be hosted by VideoChannel - video project environments
